Ok, actually I figured out a better way to calculate it. Grouchy you are right in how it starts, but lets say you have 10% reduction on every piece of gear you have except your weapon/shield or whatever. That's 11 slots each with 10% reduction. So what does that bring it to?

1 (which is 100%) multiplied by 0.9 (which is the 10% reduction) to the power of the amount of affixes you have equipped. In the above scenario we have 11 affixes of 10%, so here is what you would put in your calculator (or whatever you want to use) to figure out how much reduction you actually get.

1 x (0.9^11) = ..... 0.3138 which means it will probably be rounded up to 32 to make it easier for the game to get rid of decimals without giving you the extra benefit. So with those 11 affixes every resource spending attack will cost 32% of what it normally would. Lets say you put 2 affixes on each piece, which would actually give 19%, you would then punch in....

1 x (0.81^11) = which would come out to 0.098 which rounds up to 10%. So every resource spending attack is only 10% of the original cost.

If you had different percentages on each piece then it will need to be entered manually. So let's say you have 6 pieces of gear on, 2 have 8%, 2 have 9%, and 2 have 10%...

1 x (.92^2 x .91^2 x .9^2) = whatever. Basically, each percentage is deducted from the full amount, being 1 originally, then multiplied to accurately reduce the original amount in proportion to the amount of reduction you have. This calculation does not take into account any resource or cooldown reduction a character already has naturally or obtains through paragon points.

Thankfully the game does this for you for cooldown reduction. However, you will want to know how to calculate reduction for cd and resource when making a max out type build. Also, the game does not accurately calculate cd reduction all of the time. For instance, if you put the highest tier diamonds in your helmet, with 3 sockets you will get 33% cdr. If you then use the Leoric's Crown power in the cube it will increase the cdr, but not as much as you would have had if you were wearing the Leoric's Crown with those same diamonds. I'm not sure why it does this, it's just an observation.

anyway, thanks for the posts guys. Appreciate ya
