So it seems that since the beginning of time it has been the "legitters" vs the "modders". Legitters are whiny and modders are cheaters. Yeah, yeah, I get it. But now it seems its the "legitters" vs the "modders" vs the "modders". So the modding community is turning on itself. Between the backstabbing, name calling and he said/she said drama this is getting ridiculous. Everyone needs to realize that not everyone mods for the same reasons. One guys gear might be junk to you(because its not the way you would do it) but to that person it might fit their build just like they want it to. Instead of always hating on others gear and characters keep an open mind and check 'em out closely, sometimes seeing something unusual on someone elses build can lead to new ideas for your own.
Another thing going wrong is EGOS. Stop it. Now. You're not really a large barbarian or a super fast demon hunter. There's no need to create PS communities and facebook pages in your own honor. If you wish to be respected in the community you have to act "respectable". A wise man once told me "A good man will tell you how good he is but a GREAT man will let everyone else tell you how good he is".
Also, to address the issue of selling gear, accounts, and stat modded characters. Do you think that is what this software was created for? If that were the case it would never have been released. It would have been kept and used exclusively by its creator to be the ONLY one capable of creating and selling items. No, it was released to allow others to make gear for themselves and bring about more enjoyment to the game. So if you're selling. Stop.
If you know someone who is, encourage them to stop. Its a direct violation of the ToS.
One last note, Have you ever built something yourself? You're own creation? You know how you would dedicate hours and hours to babysit your project? Well this is no different. Thousands of hours have gone into babysitting this project to get it to where it is now, but unfortunately too many hours are getting diverted into babysitting the projects users. I fear if it keeps up, we may all end up being legitters if ya know what I mean. Capiche?
