Commented Issue: Latest D3RoS editor causing save data corruption [1750]

Hi there, I've recently updated the D3RoS save editor to the latest version ( DIIIROS.SaveEdit_1.3.17.122 )

I've been adding items into Diablo since this editor became public and have not had any issues before with save corruption.

Detailed report:

- Transfer D3 save to pc via usb as normal
- Extracting D3 save contents - Account/Pref/Profile.dat files as normal
- Extracting Hero data 0101010101.dat
- Loading D3RoS save editor as admin ( windows 8.1 OS )
- Clicking on Character to edit
- Clicking Inventory Tab
- Adding any item ( in this case it was cosmetics/angel wings/level 1/no other stats )
- Saving item - item saved
- Saving character - character saved
- File - Save all - all files saved as normal
- Injecting d3save back onto USB
- Replacing Acoount/pref/profile.dat files as normal
- Replacing hero data 0101010101.dat file as normal
- Saving/rehash/resign
- Save to USB stick
- Loading D3RoS
- Selecting USB stick ( where i keep my data )
- On screen Message "Your save data has been corrupted, you may have lost some stash/gold/items"
- Upon continuing with this "corrupted" save i can confirm that all gold and bloodshards are removed, the added item ( angel wings ) appears as normal however due to the Corruption of the save file character data is reset - Tutorial information, banners, flags, gold, shards etc

Please can this be fixed as soon as possible please.

Has this issue deffinatly been resolved then now CKY?, sorry didn't get time to test what you needed me to test yesterday had to some family things I needed to get sorted :/

If you need to me to do anything else I'm available from 10:00am GMT today

I'll use the 123 client as of today if I run into anymore issues I'll log a new issue

Thx again for helping us with the problem, is the 31st still your ETA for the client and db release for the save editor?

@CKY From what I can see after a few tests, all is working fine

Character Save
Account Save
Settings Save

All are saving fine, no corruption issues
Please find below my report on testing the new version ( 1.3.17.123 )


Test 1
  • Adding an item as per previous version ( 1.3.17.122 )
  • Saving via "Save[Character Name]"
  • Saving via "File - Save all" ( no changes made to the Account at this point )
  • rehash/resign over to USB
  • Loading up save file in game
  • Load fine no corruption
Test 2
  • Adding an item as per previous version ( 1.3.17.122 )
  • Saving via "Save[Character Name]"
  • Editing Blood shard count to 1 ( no gold edit at this point )
  • Saving via "File - Save all"
  • rehash/resign over to USB
  • Loading up save file in game
  • Load fine no corruption
Test 3
  • Adding an item as per previous version ( 1.3.17.122 )
  • Saving via "Save[Character Name]"
  • Editing Blood shard count back to 0
  • Editing Gold count to 153,000 ( previously 15,300 )
  • Saving via "File - Save all"
  • rehash/resign over to USB
  • Loading up save file in game
  • Load fine no corruption
Test 4
  • Adding an item as per previous version ( 1.3.17.122 )
  • Saving via "Save[Character Name]"
  • Editing Blood shard count back to 1
  • Editing Gold count to 153,000 ( previously 15,300 )
  • Saving via "File - Save all"
  • rehash/resign over to USB
  • Loading up save file in game
  • Load fine no corruption
Test 5
  • Adding an item as per previous version ( 1.3.17.122 )
  • Saving via "Save[Character Name]"
  • Editing Blood shard count back to 0
  • Editing Gold count to 153,000 ( previously 15,300 )
  • Editing Paragon Level to 1
  • Saving via "File - Save all"
  • rehash/resign over to USB
  • Loading up save file in game
  • Load fine no corruption However
    The save editor does not appear to be saving paragon levels, everything else is saved so far as I can see, it's just the paragon levels are not being saved upon exit of the save editor.
I ran another test to see if the paragon levels were dependent on character level, I've set character level to level 70 and paragon level to level 1, clicked save on everything I could, went back into the editor and paragon had been reset to 0.

Update:

I got the paragon level I edited on my Hardcore character to stay at "1", I've only changed his physical level to 70
My normal character who I've also set to 70 however doesn't want to save with that level "1" paragon level.

I'll upload the files in this post and see in game now if there is any corruption.

Thank you very much for your hard work and time you have put into this, I know it takes a lot of time and patience. I'll upload a copy of my Account.dat pre paragon edit and post paragon edit so you can possibly see whats happened.

Attack speed is just that. Attack speed.
What really is different is the affixs.
Attack speed % and Attack per second.

Attack speed % increases by percent.
For example: Imagine you have a sword with 1 attack speed..
Now add 10% increased attack speed, and now you have 1.1 attack speed.
100% will increase that to 2 attack speed.

Now adding attacks per second is very similar but just shows it as a decimal.
For example: Imagine you have a sword with 1 attack speed..
Now add 0.1 increased attack speed, and now you have 1.1 attack speed.
1.0 will increase that to 2 attack speed.

I haven't tried save all. All I do is save item, save character, save account or whatever I'm working on. I can try the save all again to see if it corrupts if you want me too.

Do you mean your stash?? You have to spend gold to unlock more space in game. If you mean your character, and your adding items from the editor, be sure and save your character not just the item.

Ok the Save file that I was sent don't have the paragon unlocked that is the issue with it not saving.. There's no were for it to save to I have that fixed now but the issue remains that the you have to click another field or use the roll buttons to change the value I might end up scraping the MS control and writing my own..

PS3 - Vanilla Diablo 3
Character: Barbarian (Lvl 30) - Normal Act 3
Issue: Just trying to learn the editor but when I try to edit my inventory/account and put back on USB it is loaded as corrupt.
I changed the level to 210, added Ascended armor (all of it) and debug swords.
Also added 100 of each level 19 gem and 10K health potions, along with gold.
I'm using the RoS encrypt/decrypt from ViperX's youtube.
I have backups so when I messup I just copy the original file again and keep retrying with simpler edits.

After this post, going to try to just edit inventory.
Adding armor set, and 6 high level basic swords (limb cleaver).
didn't add any effects or health potions, didn't edit gold either.
Going to save the hero only since that's only what I'm editing.
